Get your car spring ready!
It's already March and that also means it's almost spring! Time for a fresh start with a clean car. A good wash is half the battle, but there are plenty of other things you can do to make sure your car is spring-proof. Read all our tips here.
1. Check the tire pressure
Tire pressure should be checked regularly. If your tire pressure is too high or too low, your tires may wear out faster, you will have less grip on the road surface, but you will also use more fuel. You can check the tire pressure yourself at a gas station.
2. Check all fluids
Check the windshield wiper fluid, engine oil and coolant and top up if necessary. All these fluids are important to keep the car running well and smoothly. Prevent your engine from overheating by topping up the coolant in time and make sure there is enough windshield wiper fluid in your car to get your windows insect-free again, for example.
3. Check the headlights
Even though the weather stays light longer, it's always important to make sure your headlights are in good condition. If the headlights are not working properly, it is more difficult to drive at night and you also run a higher risk of an accident. Make sure your headlights are clean and all lights are working.
4. The wipers
Windshield wipers are important to ensure that you have good visibility while driving. In winter, the wipers can wear out quickly due to the cold and a lot of dirt can also get on them, making them less effective. So make sure you clean the wipers and replace them when they are worn out.
5. Check the brakes
The brakes have to work harder in winter due to snow and ice on the road surface. In addition, the sprinkle salt can cause possible oxidation. The dirt and the cold can therefore cause the brakes to work less well. Be sure to check them out before you hit the road again in the spring.
6. Check the air conditioning
It's almost spring again and that of course means that the temperatures are rising again. This also means that it is nice if you can easily regulate the temperature inside the car with the air conditioning. Check the air conditioning, make sure that the air conditioning is clean and that it is filled, so that problems are prevented.
7. Clean your car
A clean car is not only more beautiful to look at, but it also drives better! As temperatures are rising again, it is the ideal time to thoroughly clean your car again. In addition, it is also very important to clean your windows extra well, because the low-hanging sun can otherwise limit your view.
